As a Corporate:

We invite corporate to generously fund our research activities and or help us with industry specific input for the research. Companies may sponsor in any of the following ways:

  • Sponsor the operational expenses of SML
  • Sponsor a particular research at SML
  • Sponsor a college chapter of SML
  • Sponsor a social media event hosted by SML
  • Contribute by helping us conduct research related to your vertical

Partnering with SML for social media research is a great example of corporate-academia co investment in research.

As an academic institute/university:

Colleges and universities are welcome to launch a chapter of SML in their respective campuses. SML will provide all support, assistance and guidance in setting up and running the college chapter. A college chapter will be assigned specific research responsibilities which can be executed by students of the institute.

Having a college chapter gives following benefits:

  • Industry and research exposure to participating students
  • Ability to conduct research from the convenience of your campus
  • Opportunity to conduct training programs/certifications in the field of social media
  • Great value add to student’s resume
  • Exposure to corporate and industry contacts

In order to set up a college chapter, all it takes is a bunch of enthusiastic students who are passionate about social media, and some minimum infrastructure such as sytems with internet access. Drop us a line at lab@socialmedia.org.in and we'll take it forward.

As a student:

As a graduate/post graduate student, you can apply to become a research analyst at SML. We’re looking for students who’re passionate about social media, preferably from engineering/journalism/management background. Subject to your selection, you’ll get an opportunity to participate in research activities. This will give you an excellent learning opportunity, recognition and exposures that'll be value add to your profile.

Students may also take the initiative in launching a chapter in their campus.

As a government agency:

We invite government agencies and departments to partner with us and leverage the power of social media to achieve better reach, accountability and efficiency. Some potential applications are:

  • Project status monitoring and feedbacks
  • Right Beneficiary identification
  • Educating Govt departments on Social Media
  • Spreading Policy awareness
  • Faster RTI and escalations
  • Public Relations
  • Faster file movements and status checks

As an industry expert:

We welcome industry and technology experts to join us. Your domain experience in your industry will be much sought after by research teams working specific industry/technologies and you can guide the teams with expert inputs and guidelines. This will take only a very short time of yours and your contribution will be duly acknowledged.

As a social media enthusiast:

A die hard fan of new media? Just getting to learn basics? Passionate about it and would like to contribute in research? Register with us and you can indirectly partner in research activities in following ways.

  • Contribute an idea/concept for research and development in the field of social media
  • Participate in surveys
  • Conduct surveys in your locality
  • Participate in activities of Social Media Club
  • Spread word about Social media lab
  • Help us build a resource base on social media, by contributing case studies, whitepapers and other resources
  • Participate in forum discussions and events
