After about 2 months of ideation, conceptualization, design and development, Social Media Lab’s website is now live.
Social Media Lab will be India’s first research facility for new media technology and innovations. SML will be set up in collaboration with a prestigious institute and talented and passionate students will be commissioned to execute research activities, with guidance from Social media veterans and industry experts. More about this will be published in subsequent posts.
Kiruba was speaking about the concept of Social Media Lab since sometime and a decision to start working on it was taken this October, when I met him at the CII Connect 2009 conference. Since then, while myself and Kiruba worked on visualizing the website and preparing contents for it, the very efficient team at F5ive technologies, comprising of Vijay, Rajesh, Prem and others have done a brilliant job of converting the site into a reality. About 5-6 weeks of effort was spent in creation of this site, its theme, content and CMS behind it.
We still have a long way to go. The research part of SML is yet to take off, but we’ve a good foundation ready. At this stage we need your honest feedback about the site, so that we can improve it further.
